AWARDS CRITERIA
The following award criteria must be met by all nominees of the 2019 Social Media Award The criteria are:
- Company, organization or individual must have registered and is doing business with a .ng domain name.
- The Domain name must have been registered for over twelve (12) months.
- The website associate with the domain name must be active on the Internet.
NOMINATION MECHANISM
Nomination into the .ng Awards is opened to the public. The nomination for the awards is open to individual and corporate organizations that meet the award criteria.
The Awards committee will review and assess all entries/nomination for eligibility and qualification before the final short-list nominees are released for public voting via the website.
The committee may reclassify or re-categorize entries and may remove entries that do not meet the entry requirements. Entries that differ substantially from the award criteria will be disqualified without prior notice to the entrants.
VOTING AND JUDGING
Voting is open to the general public. In addition to votes which are polled from the general public, a committee made up of representative of NiRA Accredited Registrar, Executive Board Members and NiRA Secretariat also vote for the nominees.
AWARD ICONS
Winners will gain access to .ng Awards Icon, available in various sizes and various formats for inclusion on websites and marketing collateral.

4. BEST USE OF SNAPCHAT
To inform or entertain, serve or defend, motivate or campaign…
5. BEST BLOG
Recognition of a blog that has combined great content and personality to grow and engage an audience through a specific topic or set of topics.
7. BEST SOCIAL INFLUENCER CAMPAIGN
Recognition of a campaign or business that has utilized Social Influencers for the good of their brands – either to drive awareness, launch a brand or drive sales.
8. BEST USE OF RESEARCH & EVALUATION
Recognition of the best use of social media channels to research and evaluate and/or the best use of research and evaulation to inform a social media campaign.
9. BEST USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN A CRISIS
An award to recognise positive or successful use of social media in extraordinary circumstances.
10. INNOVATION
Recognition of an innovative use of social media as part of a wider campaign or an innovative use of technology to further a social media campaign.
11. LOW BUDGET CAMPAIGN
Social media on a shoestring – an award for the greatest results for the minimal outlay (maximum overall campaign budget of £10k, including agency fees and media spend).
12. BEST USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA – ENTERTAINMENT
Best use of social media by an entertainment brand or on a campaign within the entertainment vertical.
13. BEST USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA – FINANCE
Best use of social media by a finance brand or on a campaign within the finance vertical.
14. BEST USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA – RETAIL
Best use of social media by a retail brand or on a campaign within the retail vertical.
15. CHARITY / NOT FOR PROFIT CAMPAIGN
Best use of social media to communicate issues or information by a charity / not for profit organisation. This may be as standalone activity or an element of a wider media or communications strategy.
16. BEST SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN
An award for the best overall social media campaign.
17. BEST STRATEGIC USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA
Recognition of a genuinely strategic social media campaign – where social media has been used to bridge the gap between where a business was and where it wanted to be.
18. BEST INTEGRATED CAMPAIGN
An award to recognise an outstanding piece of social media work that was integral in to the success of a wider campaign.
19. BEST USE OF PAID SOCIAL
An award to recognise an outstanding paid social campaign that delivered exceptional results against a defined objective and KPI – be that awareness, reach, engagement, ROI etc.
20. MARK HANSON AWARD
An award in honour of our colleague Mark Hanson to recognise the brightest and most promising social media communicator under 30 years old (on 30 October 2019). This award is free to enter.
21. BEST IN-HOUSE TEAM
Consistently great understanding and use of social media by an in-house team.
22. BEST IN-AGENCY TEAM
Best social team that area part of a wider agency, i.e a social team in an SEO/Media/PR/Advertising Agency.
23. BEST LARGE AGENCY
Consistently great understanding and use of social media by an agency with over 10 staff.
24. BEST SMALL AGENCY
Consistently great understanding and use of social media by an agency with 10 or fewer employees.
